an excellent example of the MADAME JOSEPH forgery on 1891 QV 1/- orange (SG.58).
Finding genuine used examples of this issue is extremely difficult (Cat.£18) whilst the later 1892 1/- red-orange (SG.58a, Cat.£24) can be found used Kingstown with not too much difficulty.

Contents include: "As selling out of the Steam concern, under existing circumstances, would amount almost to the total sacrifice of my 20 shares, I have, by the advice of my London friends, paid the call of £200 and continue a share holder trusting that some improvement may take place which will enable me to make a less disastrous retreat from this unfortunate speculation, the loss of £1,000 to me who has so many dependants .... "
