1887-1892 QV 9d dull purple and blue (SG.209, Cat.£96), a very fine pair, reinforced by hinge, pmk\'d genuine KINGSTON 2W/AP 11 01 d/ring. Most unusual, the Empire postal rate between UK and Jamaica being 1d per half ounce at that time.
Coincidence, or pure conjecture that this 1901 Kingstown d/ring was also sent out with the obsolete Jamaica A01 to the London Foreign Section to kill uncancelled stamps.
