52 used LAUNCESTON, Tasmania with London 20 lines unframed circular CORRECTION HANDSTAMP
1870 cover to Islington, London with QV 6d tied "52" numeral with red LAUNCESTON 12 AU 1870 despatch, on arrival red LONDON PAID dated A/SP 10 70 mistakenly applied and obliterated with unframed circular 20 lines correction handstamp, and correct arrival of A/OC 10 70 applied alongside, re-directed to Stoke Newington some 2.7 miles away with small black crowned circle applied to show no further charge for delivery within London area, envelope with colourless embossed J. WALSH & SONS, HOBART TOWN & LAUNCESTON makers imprint under flap, no backstamps.

CA used CALLIAQUA plus blue crayon lines, ST. VINCENT postmark/cancel
doubly-struck in red dated AP 11 78 with additional three diagonal blue crayon lines on QV 1d black (SG.22) showing "ST" of "POSTAGE" marginal lines watermark, currently unique as such.
Red "CA" abbreviates are sometimes found with manuscript "X" in either red or blue crayon, but this office is not associated blue diagonal crayon lines although one 6d pair has a single red crayon line.

1911 large part cover to Headly Dalton (or Patton), Kingston, Jamaica with ¼d brown strip of four (one stamp facially damaged) tied two strikes purple boxed "EAST END/Grand Cayman./RURAL/Post Gollection." temporary rubber handstamp with BODDENTOWN JU 28 11 d/ring backstamp. On arrival eventually "ADVERTISED" and "UNCLAIMED." with red RETURNED LETTER OFFICE, JAMAICA d/ring dated 25 SE 11. Full of character, Ex MARSTON, PODGER.

(T.2) in red dated narrow A/22 OC 81 on QV 6d orange CC wmk P.14 (SG.8), missing corner perf.
I only record 5 examples loose stamp 1st red band narrow A code for A/SP 24 81 (ERD) to A/NO 26 81. This band is replaced by red C/DE 28 81 to AP 12 82, thereafter the narrow A band has extensive use in either red, black, blue inks A/AP 30 82 to A/AU 22 89. My earliest wide A code is A/23 AU 89 (black ink).

1953 three times postmarked Gibbons Co. printed sender cover to Penhurst, N.S.Wales with KG6 1/- pmk'd Hamilton 8 DEC machine, red boxed "Returned for/3d Postage." added with further KG6 3d pmk'd Hamilton 10 Dec machine for WALES (UK) and with error noted red crayon "AUSTRALIA" added prior further "Returned for/1/- Postage." with defective KG6 1/- affixed tied Hamilton 12 DEC 53 cds.
A very rare TWICE RETURNED FOR POSTAGE cover.

1839 lengthy cross-written entire headed "Bedford Wednesday Feb'y 6th 1839" and marked "Post paid March 8th" to Mrs Maclear, Royal Observatory, Cape Town with red ink PAID-SHIP LETTER/(crown) 9 MR 9 1839/LONDON and black SHIP LETTER/(crown)/CAPE OF GOOD HOPE.
