1884 QV 1d slate REVENUE in red handstamped "CANCELLED (Type D7) and 1885 QV 1d dull mauve REVENUE in black handstamped "SPECIMEN" (Type D11) in blue, both affixed to De La Rue to archive piece marked "Req 4-32". Ex CONRAD LATTO.

1885 De La Rue Colour Trial for a new printing of 1,000 sheets of the November 1884 QV 1d lilac "REVENUE" additionally ovp'd "in figures in red 1d", a lower marginal example in rose-lilac with "1d." in vermilion mounted and initialled on piece showing partial instructions on reverse.

1882 DLR QV 1d drab ovp'd "Revenue" (PML.9), an exceptionally lightly mounted mint positional horizontal strip of three showing printer's guide-line at lower right with Crown CA REVERSED wmk, a very rare multiple.

MAJOR ERROR "Revenue" OVERPRINT OMITTED with Crown CA REVERSED watermark, St. Vincent stamps:
1883 THREE PENCE on QV 1d lilac Crown CA REVERSED wmk with "Revenue" OVERPRINT OMITTED (PML.10), fresh very lightly mounted mint.
PML records this error on Page 147 of the handbook. The later 1897 issues of THREE PENCE on QV 1d mauve and red-mauve (SG.63, 63a) have never been recorded with Crown CA REVERSED wmk.

1900 used of "E. No. 708" blue stock NATAL GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS (deleted) foolscap cover marked "Regd", "60", "Fee Paid" to Serg. Major C. Stride, Dorset Yeomanry, Wimborne, Dorset with combination Natal block of ten QV 1d carmine and British Occupied OFS 2d purple ovp'd "V.R.I." and 2d pmk'd P.O.A. 107 obliterators, both stamps and adhesives with faults, reverse Wimborne DE 8 00 arrival.
The Orange Free State was formally annexed to the British Crown and renamed the Orange River Colony on 28 May 1900.
