This letter from Joshua on Capt. Lorenzo Dow Baker letterhead to Mrs. L.D. Baker would infer that this is from a second son. The letter mentions dear old Bowden, having a vaccination which did not take, and children Edith and little Dow.

Scicluna & Figli, Malta" albino printed paper stock plus handstruck cachet to Messina with GB QV 1d, QV 3d (no plate numbers) tied two strikes of the Malta "A25" duplex dated B/NO 21 63, the QV 1d poorly struck and additionally "killed" by boxed "PIROSCAFI/ POSTALI/FRANCESCI" handstamp contrary to regulations, alongside red crayon "1½" accountancy.

1890 opened to display cover showing HUDDART, PARKER & Cos.. LINE printed sender's flap to Huddart-Parker & Co, Melbourne, Australia with QV 4d brown pmk'd Malta "A25" duplex dated H/SP 11 90, b/stamped Brindisi (13-9) and Melbourne (OC 16).
Malta joined the UPU on JY 1 1875 but Australia did not become a member until OC 1 1891.
