VIRGIN ISLANDS TEXT ONLY DESCRIPTIONS PRE-STAMP + ADHESIVE COVERS (243) 1770-1915. PRICE £75
Heavily weighted on the pre-stamp side with about 110 TORTOLA 2-line dated handstamps (differing types) and limited amounts of genuine commercial later adhesive covers (which can be expanded if philatelic ones embraced). This is a "work-in-progress" file (meaning that I am constantly adding information). You can now order and pay for your own DIGITAL pdf copy (no refunds, but you are entitled to TWO free updates as and when requested). This pdf has descriptions of 243 entires which include the rare single line TORTOLA, Crowned Circles, the later Temporary Rubber Datestamps inter-mingled with social history, provenance, mentions of shipping disasters. 1929 opened-out reg. cover to La Ceiba, Republic Honduras from Peter Melnikov, Northern River with KGV 10c pmk'd at Belize 5 OC 29, wide display of transit cancels with handstruck mauve REBUT and AUSENTE finishing return journey with MASKALL BANK temporary rubber datestamp dated MAR 19 1930 (TDC-17, D2). A rare commercial cover.

VIRGIN ISLANDS temporary rubber datestamps postal history
EAST END and ROAD TOWN, the unique side by side combination of temporary rubber datestamps both dated 4 JUL 1907, the latter in purple, on Ursula ½d Post Card to Islington. Exceptionally clean and exciting exhibition item.
No example of the ROAD TOWN TRD has been found on loose stamp, the only other example known is on the reverse of envelope from same correspondence when writer sent the Post Office Order enclosed in an envelope from EAST END with TRD cancelling adhesive on face.
